Pricing guide

How much does car detailing cost in the Bay Area?

The short answer: mobile car detailing for a standard sedan in the Bay Area runs about $140 to $280, depending on how deep you go. The price comes down to vehicle size, how dirty the car is, the paint condition, and whether you add protection. Here is exactly what you get at each level — and what makes the number go up.

Quick answer

R1 Shine uses flat, transparent pricing across the Bay Area: $140 for Essential, $200 for Signature, and $280 for Elite — for a standard sedan. SUVs, trucks, heavy pet hair, and ceramic coating cost more, and we confirm any adjustment before we start. No shop drop-off, no surprise fees at the end.

What each package includes

The three tiers, and who each is for

Most drivers do not need the most expensive option. Match the package to the car's actual condition and how it's parked.

Essential

$140

Exterior hand wash, interior vacuum, wheels and tires, and glass. The right call for regular upkeep on a car that is already in decent shape.

Signature

$200

Everything in Essential plus deep interior cleaning, upholstery and carpet shampoo, and interior protection. The best all-around value for commuter and family cars.

Elite

$280

Everything in Signature plus clay-bar decontamination and paint protection. Choose it when the paint feels rough, water stops beading, or the car lives outside.

What changes the price

Two cars rarely cost exactly the same to detail. These are the factors that move the number — all confirmed up front, never as a surprise:

Vehicle size

Standard sedans are the base price. SUVs, trucks, vans, and three-row vehicles take more time and product, so they carry an adjustment that we confirm before starting.

Interior condition

Heavy pet hair, sand, deep stains, spilled drinks, or a long-neglected cabin add extraction and treatment time. A lightly used commuter cabin costs less than a family SUV after a road trip.

Paint condition

If the paint is rough, swirled, or has bonded contamination, clay-bar decontamination or paint correction adds to the job. Maintained paint just needs a wash.

Protection add-ons

Ceramic-grade protection and sealants cost more than a basic wash but last months to years and reduce future maintenance. They are the highest-value upgrade for cars parked outside.

Location & access

Mobile detailing comes to you, so there is no shop drop-off or wait. We just need room to work around the vehicle — driveway, garage, apartment lot, or office.

Mobile detailing vs. a shop — what you're paying for

A detail shop and a $15 drive-through are not the same product, and neither is a mobile detail. With mobile service you pay for the work and the convenience: the same hands-on cleaning, decontamination, and protection a shop provides, done at your home or office with no drop-off, no waiting room, and no second trip to pick the car up. For most people the time saved is worth as much as the result.
