Correction starts with a full two-bucket wash, iron remover, and a clay-bar pass so no bonded grit is left to get dragged around by the pad. Polishing over contamination just makes new scratches.

Inspect and measure
Under a dedicated light we map the defects on every panel and, where possible, read the paint thickness so we know how much clear coat there is to work with. Repainted panels, thin edges, and prior corrections all change the plan, and we quote from this inspection before any polishing starts.

Test spot
On a small section of the worst panel we try the least aggressive pad and polish combination that gets the result. That combination becomes the recipe for the car. If a single pass is not enough, we step up to a compound stage followed by a finishing polish.

Each panel is worked in small sections with a dual-action polisher, wiped, and re-checked under the light before moving on. Edges and body lines are taped or handled by hand because the clear coat is thinnest there.

Strip residue and protect
Polishing oils are removed with a panel wipe so the true finish shows, then the paint gets a protective layer. Corrected paint with no protection on it will start collecting new marks within weeks, so this step is never optional.

What is the difference between one-step and multi-step paint correction?
A one-step correction uses a single polish and pad combination and typically removes most light swirls and haze in one pass. A multi-step correction adds a heavier compounding stage first to level deeper defects, followed by a finishing polish to restore gloss. Most daily drivers land in one-step territory; heavily swirled, oxidized, or dark-colored cars usually need two stages. The test spot tells us which.
Does paint correction damage the clear coat?
It removes a small amount of it by design. That is how the defects come out. Factory clear coat has a limited thickness, so correction should be done as few times as possible over the life of the car, and then protected so it does not need repeating. We measure where we can, use the least aggressive method that works, and will decline to polish a panel that is already too thin.
Can you remove every scratch?
No. Correction handles defects in the clear coat: swirls, holograms, light scratches, water-spot etching, and oxidation. A scratch you can catch a fingernail in has usually gone through to the color or primer and needs touch-up or repaint. Clear coat that is peeling or flaking has failed and cannot be polished back. We will point these out during inspection so there are no surprises.
How much does paint correction cost?
Paint correction is quoted separately, on top of the Elite package starting at $280. The final number depends on the car's size, how many panels need work, the paint's condition, and whether one or two stages are required. We inspect first, quote, and only start once you have approved it.
How long does it take?
A one-step correction on a sedan generally runs most of a day including wash, decontamination, and protection. Multi-step corrections and larger vehicles can take a full day or spill into a second visit. Correction is slow because it is careful; rushing it is how holograms happen.
Can you do paint correction at my home or office?
Yes, with the right space. We need shade or cover, room to walk around the car, and a spot where it can sit undisturbed for the day. Our rig brings its own water and power. A garage or carport is ideal; a shaded office spot works. Direct sun on hot panels is the one condition we will not polish in.
How do I keep the paint looking corrected?
Never use an automatic brush wash again. Hand wash with the two-bucket method, keep protection on the paint, and get bird droppings and sprinkler spots off quickly. Done that way, a corrected and protected finish stays close to its best for years instead of drifting back within a season.
